The Garga Samhita is a Sanskrit text associated with the sage Garga, who is traditionally considered the family priest of the Yadava clan, to which Lord Krishna belonged.
There are several texts attributed to the name “Garga Samhita”:
- Astrological and Astronomical Treatise: This text is primarily concerned with astrology and astronomy. It is divided into two parts: one attributed to Garga and the other to Kraushtuki or Bharadvaja.
- Vaishnava Text: This text is a devotional work focused on the life and teachings of Lord Krishna and His consort Radha. It is considered one of the earliest texts to associate Radha and Krishna with the Holi festival.
